Goway’s new Account Manager is industry veteran Ian Smyth – Travelweek

TORONTO — Goway has appointed Ian Smyth as Account Manager in Canada.

Smyth was most recently NCL’s Business Development Director. His 20+ years of travel industry experience also includes positions with Fun Sun Vacations, WestJet, and WestJet Vacations.

Goway’s General Manager of Sales, Renee Stanton-Defaria, says Smyth’s experience in corporate sales, strategic accounts, and business development will be invaluable in his new role with Goway.

“As Goway continues to grow our external sales, I’m thrilled to welcome Ian to our team,” says Stanton-Defaria. “With his industry knowledge combined with his strong relationships in the industry, Ian is the perfect fit to join our team and help shore up our presence in the Canadian market.”

This is yet another signal that Goway is turning the corner on the pandemic and starting to expand its position within the resurging travel industry, she added.

Smyth says he has long admired Goway as a leader in the travel industry, “for their exceptional reputation amongst the travel agent community and excellence in guest experience.”

Smyth added: “So I’m extremely grateful to be a part of the Goway team and look forward to working with my many friends and associates in the industry as we prepare for the rebound in travel in the year ahead.”
