TravelBrands makes $10,000 donation to support Ukraine humanitarian efforts – Travelweek

MISSISSAUGA — TravelBrands is lending its support to humanitarian efforts in Ukraine with a $10,000 donation.

The cheque, made to the Canadian Red Cross – Ukraine Humanitarian Crisis, will help those impacted by the war in Ukraine. In addition, TravelBrands will be donating $5 of every booking made to the organization, and is calling upon Canadian tour operators to take similar actions.

“I am deeply troubled by the invasion of Ukraine and the devastation to all those affected by this heartbreaking situation,” says Frank DeMarinis, CEO of H.I.S-Red Label Vacations Inc. “Not only I sit our responsibility, but it is our duty as an organization to speak up and take action. We challenge our travel industry partners to also contribute in any way possible as a demonstration of solidarity. This is a time for collective compassion and we all need to take steps to strengthen unity, togetherness and peace both in our own communities and internationally.”

Effective immediately, TravelBrands has removed all travel products and services related to Russia including tours, hotels and flights. Internally, the company is encouraging staff to make their own contributions to these efforts and is offering continued support through various Employee Assistance Program resources.
