Emerald Cruises offers France at a discount with limited-time sale – Travelweek

VANCOUVER — Emerald Cruises is offering Canadians savings on all 2023 French river cruises with a new limited-time sale.

Called ‘Your Great French Escape,’ the sale includes $600 per couple off the cruise fare, roundtrip flights for $295 (or $700 air credit) and, if the booking is paid in full within seven days, a €250 per cabin onboard credit. Guests who pay in full can also enjoy an additional 10% off the cruise fare with the Super Earlybird program.

With the sale, guests can book the eight-day Sensations of Lyon and Provence, which sails aboard Emerald Cruises’ Star-Ship, Emerald Liberté. Several EmeraldACTIVE inclusions keep guests active throughout the journey, including a hike through the vineyards of Tournon, kayaking in the city of Avignon, a bike ride through Lyon, and a fishing lesson in Viviers. Those who prefer a more genial pace can visit the Hospices de Beaune, originally a hospital for the pool and now home to one of Burgundy’s most popular wine auctions, and also take a guided walking tour of one of the many towns along the Rhône and Saône Rivers route.

This region is also home to an abundance of culinary delights. Guests can enjoy a wine presentation and tasting with a local expert, and an onboard Provençal dinner in Avignon hosted by renowned local chef and ‘Top Chef France’ finalist Fabien Morreale.

Fares for the eight-day sailing, with the $600 per couple and 10% SEB savings included, start at $3,916 per person, double.

In addition, extending the vacation is easily done with several two- and three-night city stays. Two nights in Paris staying at the luxurious Jardin du Marais Hotel includes a city tour and scenic cruise on the Seine, while three nights in Nice allows for plenty of exploration along the shoreline and sipping wine in local cafes. Guests can also book two nights in Aix-en-Provence, the birthplace of artist Paul Cézanne.

As Emerald Cruises’ first Star Ship in France, the 138-passenger Emerald Liberté was custom-built especially for the Rhône and Saône Rivers. Onboard, guests will find a pool that turns into a cinema at night, drop-down glass balcony windows in all suites, and a crew-to-guest ratio of 1:3.
