‘Always-on’ 4% discount for base domestic fares now available for Qantas partners – Travelweek

SYDNEY — Effective today Qantas trade partners will have access to an always-on discount of up to 4% on base domestic fares when booking via the Qantas Distribution Platform.

The initiative means travel agents and their customers will be able to take advantage of cheaper Australian domestic fares via the Qantas Distribution Platform, compared to other indirect booking systems.

The Qantas Distribution Platform – built using IATA’s New Distribution Capability (NDC) standards – is designed to modernize the retailing experience that trade partners provide to customers with a wider range of products, features and capabilities.

Since its launch in 2018, Qantas has continued to invest in the capabilities of the Qantas Distribution Platform, releasing special offers and new revenue opportunities, growing its network of Technology Partners and expanding the program internationally with 60 markets now live with more to come.

Says Qantas Executive Manager of Global Sales and Distribution Igor Kwiatkowski: “The lower pricing we are launching today is part of our investment to modernise our distribution capabilities. The new discount complements the many capabilities already enabled through the Qantas Distribution platform such as richer content and increased customer personalization.

“With 60 international markets now able to connect to the platform, our trade partners both around the world and at home will be able to take advantage of up to 4% lower Australian domestic fares and other benefits of the platform,” he added.

The lower fares are available to all travel agents, travel management companies and online booking tools accessing content via the Qantas Distribution Platform.

Travel agents who have registered in the Qantas Channel can access Qantas Distribution Platform content via either an Approved Technology Partner, or by developing a direct connection to Qantas’ NDC XML Application Program Interface (API).
