Significant Weather Event – Solid Waste Collection

Significant Weather Event – Update: December 25, 2022

December 25, 2022 (Muskoka, ON) – Snow removal efforts have continued throughout Muskoka since declaring a Significant Weather Event on December 23, 2022. Our partner municipalities received a significant amount of snowfall over the last two days – we continue to work together to ensure the plows can operate safely, given the conditions and challenges.

Potential Impact to Solid Waste Collection

Crews are out clearing the way for property owners and visitors across the District and Solid Waste Management staff are closely monitoring progress to determine if changes to waste collection are required to keep the roads clear and staff safe.

Property owners are encouraged to download our free Muskoka Recycles mobile app to receive notifications and have the most up to date information on Muskoka’s waste system. If changes to waste collection occur this week, updates will be posted on our Muskoka Recycles app and at www.muskokarecycles.ca

We appreciate the patience of our community as we continue responding to the substantial snowfall over the past couple of days.

The significant weather event remains in effect for the District of Muskoka on December 25, 2022.
