Travel Nevada keeps up the momentum with focus on natural beauty, road trips and of course, Vegas – Travelweek

TORONTO— Canada continues to be an important source market for Nevada, to the point that Canada and Mexico vie for top spot as the state’s biggest international market.

In a typical year, Nevada gets close to two million visits from the Canadian market, and it put in a strong performance in 2022.

To keep the momentum going, the Travel Nevada team hosted a networking and information session for members of trade and media at the Roundhouse in Toronto. In the Canadian market Travel Nevada is represented by Reach Global Marketing.

These days, Travel Nevada is focusing on appealing to clients who love the outdoors and who rent cars to explore. Nevada is the most mountainous state in the continental U.S. with 314 mountain ranges and 36 lakes. There’s plenty of opportunities for great skiing, biking, hiking, golf, ziplining, fishing, rafting, kayaking and more.

A big draw for this destination is its 10 well-known road trips like Death Valley Rally, Extraterrestrial Highway and Neon to Nature. Nevada is known as the ‘Road Trip Capital of the USA’ and surprising scenery, intriguing towns and oddball attractions can be expected at almost every turn.

One interesting fact is that Nevada has more ghost towns than actual towns, with over 600 remaining from the 1860s gold and silver mining boom. Eureka is the most concentrated area for ghost towns.

In Las Vegas, something new to try is the Las Vegas Brews Cruise. Many new breweries have opened in downtown Las Vegas. The tour can be conducted on foot or via bus and is a great opportunity for team building.

Those who have done Las Vegas, or who are looking for ideas to add to their Vegas trip, can give Southern Nevada a try, especially if they love the outdoors. Red Rock Canyon is only 20 minutes from Las Vegas, while Valley of Fire, known for its scenery and dune buggy tours, is one hour and 15 minutes away. And 25 minutes from Las Vegas is Boulder City, a non-gaming destination and home to Hoover Dam.

Las Vegas is well-serviced by Canada’s airlines, including one of the industry’s newest entrants, Canada Jetlines. Its Toronto-Las Vegas flights started Feb. 16.
