Flight delays as southern Ontario grapples with winter storm – Travelweek

TORONTO — The list of delayed departures out of Pearson Airport just keeps going and going and going, as southern Ontario grapples with a winter storm.

Just about every flight scheduled to depart out of Pearson this morning was delayed until at least this afternoon, and some were cancelled outright. There were more ‘On Time’ indications for this afternoon’s schedule, although that could still change.

Arriving flights weren’t faring any better, as delays dominated the Arrivals schedule too.

Delays were numerous at Billy Bishop Airport, with the outlook so far improved for the afternoon.

There were only a couple of cancellations so far at John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport.

Even if travellers are game to head out to their airport to catch a flight, the trek may have just gotten tougher, depending on where they’re driving from. Toronto Police announced late this morning that both the Gardiner Expressway and the Don Valley Parkway were closing. Motorists have been stranded and snowplows have to get in to clear the highways.
